First Pass Pages!

The postman came this morning with THE FALCONER’s first pass pages:

pass-pages-002First pass pages are incredibly exciting because this is when the manuscript starts to look “book-shaped” and less like a manuscript. The ARCs are definitely “book-shaped,” but those were printed directly from the copyedited manuscript. First pass pages are after the manuscript has been type setted and the pages start to look like they will in the finished copy.

A first look at THE FALCONER’s opening lines.

It’s also the last time I get to make any changes to the manuscript before publication. Of course, I still have US copyedits and first pass pages, but this is it for the UK edition (not to worry, Commonwealth readers! They won’t be too terribly different at all).  So it’s very emotional to say goodbye to the book I’ve been working on since 2010.  It’s changed so much in the last 3 years, and I’m so proud of how far it’s come.

And now I shall move onto Aileana’s next adventure in THE FALCONER II. 🙂
